DISCOVERY OF "DNA"
The discovery of "DNA"begins in 1880's,The structure of "DNA" concluded in 1953."DNA" was first identified in 1860's by swiss chemist called johann friedrich miescher FRANCIS CRICK AND JAMES WATSON" discovered "DNA".
Full form of "DNA" deoxyribo nucloeic acid.Johann carried out experiments using salt solutions to understand more about what makes up white blood cells. He noticed that, when he added acid to a solution of the cells, a substance separated from the solution. This substance then dissolved again when an alkali was added.
When investigating this substance he realised that it had unexpected properties different to those of the other proteins? he was familiar with. Johann called this mysterious substance ‘nuclein’, because he believed it had come from the cell nucleus. Unbeknown to him, Johann had discovered the molecular basis of all life – DNA. He then set about finding ways to extract it in its pure form. This instantly recognisable structure is one of the 20th century's most powerful icons. Cracking the structure of DNA explained how the fundamental unit of inheritance – the gene – works, and how it is replicated from one cell to the next and one generation to another.DNA tests are used to confirm the pedigrees of pet dogs and cats, racehorses and livestock. They can establish the identity of illegally collected bird's eggs and the hides of protected species.
DNA has shown that the first farmers migrated west from the Middle East across Europe.
Biology is the most powerful technology ever created. DNA is software, protein are hardware, cells are factories.
